About the Coorg Tour Package

The Coimbatore-to-Coorg route via Gudalur and Sultan Bathery is the one we recommend most — it runs through Wayanad’s forest stretches before climbing into Kodagu’s coffee country, and it’s noticeably more scenic than cutting across via Mysuru, even though it adds a little time.

Coorg itself is Karnataka’s hill escape of choice: coffee and pepper plantations layered over rolling hills, cool air year-round, and a slower pace that most of our travellers say is exactly what they came for.

Why Travellers Choose Coorg

coorg

Best Time to Visit Coorg

October to March is the most reliable stretch, with clear skies and genuinely cold mornings in December-January — carry a jacket. Monsoon (June-September) turns the estates a deep, saturated green and is popular with photographers, but landslide-prone stretches on the ghat can cause delays, so we build in extra buffer time on those dates.

Top Places to Visit in Coorg

A short list of stops most of our Coorg packages build the day around — not an exhaustive list, but the ones worth planning your time for.

Abbey Falls

A private-estate waterfall a short drive from Madikeri, reached by a walk through cardamom and coffee plantings — best after monsoon when the flow is at its fullest.

Raja's Seat

A garden viewpoint on the edge of Madikeri looking out over the valley, popular at sunset when the hills turn gold — gets crowded on weekends, so we time it for early evening on weekdays where we can.

Dubare Elephant Camp

A forest-department camp on the banks of the Kaveri where you can watch, and in some seasons help bathe, the resident elephants — reached by a short coracle crossing.

Talakaveri

The origin point of the river Kaveri, high up near Brahmagiri hill, with a steep flight of steps to a further viewpoint — worth the climb on a clear day for the ridge views alone.

Namdroling Golden Temple

A working Tibetan Buddhist monastery near Kushalnagar with a strikingly gilded main hall, one of the more unexpected stops on a Coorg itinerary and a favourite with families.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Coorg Tour Package

Is the Wayanad route to Coorg better than via Mysuru?

For our Coimbatore-based packages, yes for scenery — it passes through Wayanad’s forest belt, which most travellers enjoy as part of the trip. The Mysuru route is flatter and slightly faster if time is tight.

Two full days covers Abbey Falls, Raja’s Seat and Dubare comfortably. Add a third if you want Talakaveri and a slower estate stay.

Yes — it’s one of our more popular multi-day requests, since both sit along the same route with only about 2 hours between them.
