Kovalam is one of Kerala’s older established beach destinations, close to Thiruvananthapuram, with a working lighthouse still guiding ships and a string of crescent-shaped beaches that made it popular with international travellers well before most of Kerala’s coast was on the tourist map.
Given the distance from Coimbatore, we generally build this into a longer south Kerala itinerary alongside Poovar and Varkala rather than a standalone trip.
