Kodaikanal takes longer to reach from Coimbatore than the Nilgiri hill stations, and that extra distance filters out the day-trip crowd — most people who make the drive stay at least two nights.
The lake is the obvious centrepiece, a star-shaped body of water built in 1863 that you can cycle or walk all the way around. Everything else — Coaker’s Walk, Pillar Rocks, the pine forests — sits within a short drive of it.
April to June and September to October are the two comfortable windows; April-June is peak season with pleasant days and cool nights. December-January gets cold enough that early risers will want proper jackets. Monsoon brings heavy mist that some travellers love for the atmosphere and others find limits visibility at viewpoints.

The usual route from Coimbatore goes via Pollachi and Palani, climbing the Kodaikanal ghat road — about 4.5 hours total, longer than any other package on this page.
The nearest railway station is Kodai Road, roughly 80 km from Kodaikanal town, with onward travel by road. Dindigul Junction is a larger connecting station a little further out.
Madurai Airport is closer than Coimbatore for Kodaikanal specifically, but most of our packages originate from Coimbatore, about 4.5 hours by road.
It’s workable but tight, given the 4.5-hour drive each way. We more often recommend 3 Days / 2 Nights so you’re not spending most of day one and day three just travelling.
